Business briefs: Nationwide Insurance to trim 12 DM jobs
Nationwide Insurance is eliminating 63 positions, mostly middle-management, including 12 in Des Moines, as part of a realignment of its property-casualty customer service operations.
The company will attempt to find new positions for the people whose jobs are being eliminated, a spokesman said. Nationwide employs more than 4,000 people in Des Moines and plans to add another 1,570 new positions once construction on office buildings in downtown Des Moines is completed, the spokesman said.
