Deputies arrest claims adjuster

A 25-year-old with an admitted addiction to cocaine was arrested Thursday and faces a charge of organized fraud, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Daniel Kantor, of the 1000 block of 79th Street West, was employed by Mercury Insurance in Clearwater as a claims adjuster when authorities say he stole nearly $35,000 from the company.

Kantor would add victims to an accident loss report, using names of friends or "friends of friends," and have them cash check of different amounts. He would split the amount with the person who cashed the check, a complaint filed in court by Bradenton police authorities said.

In a four-month period, between August 2006 to December 2006, he caused a loss of $34,075, to Mercury Insurance, in cashing 30 checks, the complaint said.

Forecasts for the week of July 15

This will help us recover from this last Mercury retrograde. (Sort of like a change is as good as a rest.) However, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto are all still retrograde -- and Venus joins this retrograde group on July 27. Oy! This can continue to give us a feeling that things are sort of on hold. It's a good time to clean house, as it were, before moving on to other things. Of course, deadlines can help. (If it weren't for the last minute -- nothing would get done.) The bottom line is not to beat yourself up if you accomplish things later rather than sooner. And hey -- some people are always late -- like the late King George VI.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

The next six weeks might be one of the most fun times of the year for you. That's because the sun is moving into the part of your chart that rules parties, vacations, love affairs, romance, sports, gambling and playful activities with children.
